What is green wings?

Green Wings is a non-profit flight crew organization aimed at increasing efforts towards environmental sustainability in aviation. It was created by two pilots who love their jobs and love to travel, but were astonished at the amount of waste created by the airline industry.

The problem

You’ve probably seen it yourself; all the waste, single-use items, unused food, and other resources used in a single flight, multiplied across the 28,000+ flights per day in the US alone. It became obvious that something needed to be done. The aviation industry is truly an amazing industry, but there is a lot of work to be done when it comes to sustainability. So we decided to take it into our own hands.
